Aquasoft Increases Security of the EU Tax Area

Aquasoft has developed a unique system thanks to which the security of merchandising on the internal market of the European Union will rise. This concerns a national system of EMCS ensuring a new method of registration of the transport of selected products in the mode of a conditional tax exemption.

The EMCS system (Excise Movement and Control System) was prepared in cooperation with the Customs Administration of the Czech Republic. The EMCS national system represents implementation of the first phase of the extensive project “EMCS”, unifying the formalities which are connected with the transport of selected products and registration of tax entities in all the Member States of the EU. "EMCS will enable the Customs Administration to achieve a higher quality of the inspection process, unifying of documentation and especially a fraud risk mitigation. The economic entities involved will then benefit from advantages resulting from a fast arrangement of guarantees for transport and administrative load reduction," says Petr Franc, Managing Director of Aquasoft.

The main aim of the project is to introduce the electronic accompanying document known as AAD and to increase effectiveness of activities of economic entities and of the Customs Administration. "Registration systems of all the Member States will be gradually interconnected between themselves during next year, which provides for an increase in security and effectiveness of operation of the internal market of the Communities," stresses Tomáš Vinš, Project Manager.

According to the EU Regulation, the individual Member States must introduce their national systems from 1 January 2011. The system will be launched in fifteen Member States already from 1 April 2010, and the Czech National System has been introduced by the Customs Administration of the Czech Republic in advance already since September 2009. All tax entities can therefore have enough time to make themselves familiar with the application and related changes sufficiently before the deadline.
